Agrivet Sciences Institute
The Agrivet Sciences Institute (AGSI) was established in AY 2011-2012 and is timely and strategic for Lasallian presence in Central Luzon and an ideal demonstration site for agriculturally-oriented Lasallian education.
Founding of the AgriVet Sciences Institute
The Agrivet Sciences Institute was established in June 2011 under the leadership of Br. Narciso S. Erguiza, Jr. FSC. Seventeen (17) first year high school students and three second year transferees were admitted.
In concurrence with CHED Memorandum Order No. 14, Series 2008, the BS in Agriculture curriculum at DLSAU, Malabon Campus was revised and implemented in SY 2012-2013 at the Salikneta Farm, where all the students are in-residence.
The relocation of the program from DLSAU, Malabon Campus to Salikneta Farm was in response to the need of providing the students the appropriate setting and direct access to a practical laboratory where they can readily integrate or apply basic concepts/theories to agricultural/farming systems.
Also, the move was in support of the government’s program of addressing the shortage of agriculturists equipped with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills and possess an entry level of competencies in technical agriculture upon graduation.
Now in its third year of operation, the AGSI is home to 60 high school and 65 first and second year BS Agriculture students, with 95% and 97% of the enrollees as scholars, respectively.
